Maranga Hot Oil – Brand Launch
ROLE: Creative Director

Maranga is an Italian hot oil brand created by husband-and-wife duo, Nick and Elli. Obsessed with making pizza from scratch, they were unable to find a chili oil fiery enough to match their love for heat. This began their quest to craft one themselves —an ‘actually spicy’ hot oil rooted in family, flavor, and tradition. Made from Calabrian chili, organic California olive oil, Italian spices and nothing artificial—it’s designed to bring it all to the table.

Naming, Logo, Brand-System
Staying true to authentic storytelling, Maranga is the families last name. The logo system is designed for flexibility and impact.
Clean typography anchors the brand, while flourishes and stacked arrangements allow it to shift seamlessly across
touch-points—from packaging to social content. The brand palette injects a blend of old-world Italian richness
and California’s laid-back brightness.

Teaser, Pre-Launch Social Campaign
The pre-launch campaign was centered on urgency, exclusivity, and storytelling. Social media teased candid family photos of the founders connecting audiences to the brand’s roots and authenticity. Campaign language was direct, witty, and family-driven, urging followers to subscrib to email for first access to a limited drop. This approach built anticipation, community, and loyalty before the first jar was even released.

PACKAGING
The product comes in a rigid glass jar—functional,  easy to grip, and rooted in old-world sensibility. The jar highlights ingredients through a clea typographic system,
echoing the quality product.
